General anesthesia is used during surgery so that you will be asleep during your procedure. During recovery, you may feel some discomfort. We will provide medication to help you rest easily while you recuperate at home.
You will need some time to rest to ensure a successful recovery, but many patients return to work within one week. Because different patients heal at different rates, it’s hard to determine what you will experience. However, you should avoid strenuous activity, exercise, lifting and bending during your recovery.
Results may last up to a decade or longer. A necklift does not stop the aging process, but it does turn back the clock. Essentially, the results are permanent because your neck will always look younger than if you never had the procedure. Results last longer for patients who live healthy lifestyles with no smoking, proper skin care, and a healthy diet and exercise regimen.
As with all surgeries, a necklift does have risks and potential complications. However, because of advanced techniques and technology, risks are minimal. Risks include infection, tightness, bleeding, and nerve damage.
Results are immediate, but the swelling will affect the improvement for a few weeks after surgery. When swelling subsides, results will continue to improve for three to six months.
